1. count the number of letters in your name
2. find the sheet with the right number of boxes
3. write your name in the top box, each letter needs a different colour - if you have two of the same letters they will be the same colour
4. follow the prompts to work out the fractions in your name
5. when you are finished please hand them into Whaea Kylie

Cut up the pictures of the different foods you would like to take out with you on your picnic and paste them into your everyday book. Remember to label the size of the fraction for each piece of food.
Build a fraction wall
You need:
Spicy -----> What do you notice about the denominator as the pieces get smaller?
- 1 pair of scissors
- 5 different coloured pieces of paper
- Your Everyday maths book
- A glue stick
- 1 pencil
- Glue the learning progression outline at the top of your page
- Glue one piece of coloured paper at the top of your page (it doesn't matter which colour)
- Write '1 whole' and '1/1' on the piece of paper
- Choose your next colour paper
- Fold it in half, cut down the fold line
- Write 1/2 on each piece
- Choose a different coloured paper
- Fold it in half, and then half again, cut down the fold lines
- Write 1/4 on each piece
- Continue this pattern with your remaining pieces of paper
- How many pieces do you end up with on the line?
- Once you have completed these and the extra challenge on the video glue your pieces under your '1 whole' from biggest to smallest.
